Laura and her family

My Story

Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it. Proverbs 22:6

As a farm girl who has studied with some of the best coaches in the world, I offer a unique perspective for anyone who is seeking self-improvement. I am also able to draw from my experience as an entrepreneur (no less than 4 businesses) and a homeschooler (3 grown children and soon to be 6 grandchildren) offering guidance, understanding, and practical tips to help you reach your goals and achieve success.

Best of luck in your journey.  Please don't hesitate to reach out for further advice and guidance.

Every family has a story come share ours. . .

(The picture on the left is me with my wonderful husband of 30+ years, Bryon.  He's always so supportive of everything I do.)

I understand the importance and need for information that can be easily understood and readily applied to your own life and  family. I wrote my first book, The ABC’s of Homeschooling – Inspiration and Education for a Parents’ Soul, because I had people asking me how to raise their children like mine and have a similar family life. What I was doing and continue to do isn’t really difficult and I wanted to let people know that if they just put a few rules in place and shower their children with love and respect it unfolds naturally.

That was about ten years ago and even though I was pretty sure that I was doing the right thing, I still wondered if they would all turn out to be independent successful adults, but now I know! Each one is a  successful, happy, loving, independent adult and we all enjoy a very tight-knit and devoted family unit.

I still enjoy many of the fun things I did as a child on our farm like taking care of animals, tilling the soil, playing in the woods, and swimming in the creek. The difference now Is I have gardens that are more beautiful, I enjoy walking in nature, and as an extra perk, I own my own paddle boarding business on our local lake. Things have changed a little....but I really haven’t.

Keith

He knew from birth he wanted to farm and by the time he was sixteen Keith had saved $10,000.00 from working for local farmers. At age twenty-four he purchased a 40-acre farm that came with an old log house and several large barns.  A few years later he and his wife purchased 50 more acres.  Keith is pictured here with his wife-Monica, daughter-Guinevere, and son-Henry.

Kristin

She is known in many circles as the “The Baby Whisperer.”  Kristin is quite loved by little children (and adults, too), and has worked as a nanny since the age of sixteen.  She and her husband, Alex, along with their sons Joey and Blaise, live on a 110 acre farm that used to be an orchard.  Since all of the old trees were gone, a friend helped them plant six new apple trees to begin their own small orchard.  In her free time, Kristin enjoys writing about life on the farm and has already co-authored two books (Hoppy The Hereford Finds a Forever Home and Hoppy The Hereford Finds a Forever Friend).

Elijah

He has been a Christian youth leader since the age of eighteen.  Eli studies the scriptures diligently, and has a great sense of humor. He can deliver a speech that has you laughing one minute and crying the next.  At age twenty he started his own mowing business and is very successful.  Eli is pictured with his wife Rachel and their son Anthony from a recent family vacation.  They are currently fixing up an old house built in the early 1920's and making it their home.  They are expecting baby number 2 in August.
